THIS WEDNESDAY, JOURNAL DRAWINGS, JAN. 31st 2007!

Letter from the journal

Over the past 2 years, many have walked through the journal’s door at 619 East 6th street. We are sad to say that on February 1st that door will be closing forever. The old brick garage, home to the journal and the journal Gallery, will be demolished and a new condominium development will rise in its place.

the journal is currently seeking a new home, but would like to invite you to the final event at 619 East 6th Street. On Wednesday, January 31st at 7pm, we will open a one-night exhibition of drawings to benefit the journal Gallery. All works in the show will be made on site during January 30th and January 31st , by artists that have appeared in past issues of the journal. In addition to the exhibition, we will be documenting all work for a special curated section in the spring issue. Carter Foster, Drawings Curator of the Whitney Museum, will curate this 32-page signature. Thanks to the kind donations of participating artists, drawings will be on sale for $250 and up, with all proceeds helping the journal in our search for a new space. We thank everybody who supports the journal by purchasing a drawing, or just coming by.

Hope to see you there.
